Visit Carrabassett Valley

Hostel of Maine offers limited rentals of the entire lodge.

Rentals will guarantee full access to all guest areas (rooms, common spaces, kitchen, etc), sole access to the lodge with the exception of occasional staff, and private access to the outdoor patio & porch.

Pricing is season dependent and our best rates are offered during non-holiday weekdays. For example, renting HoME 4 midweek nights in mid-April (still great skiing!) might be as little as half the cost as renting it on a busy weekend in February. Our minimum stay is 3 nights for a full rental.

Whether you have a large extended family, are trying to arrange a company trip to the mountains, or have a group of friends you trust, Hostel of Maine could be your perfect getaway during any season!

For details about what you’ll get with a full rental, continue reading below! If you have questions or are ready to book, please contact us at reservations@hostelofmaine.com or click on Contact Us.

Cozy rooms for your whole group

The lodge features 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. We have a variety of layouts which help to accommodate nearly any group. If all beds are used, the lodge can sleep up to 29 people comfortably. Rooms currently include mini fridges and coffee makers as well.

Clean ensuite baths

Rooms also include ensuite full bathrooms, which in all but our ADA compliant room feature a bathtub/shower combo. A common bathroom is also situated next to the entryway and great room for convenience.

Easy access to everything

Rarely do you find something more enjoyable than sitting in a cozy log cabin while the fire roars and snow flies outside. Waking up to fresh powder and a full day of skiing ahead of you is pretty great too. The icing on the cake is going outside and finding the driveway cleared, or even better, the Sugarloaf shuttle waiting for you.

In normal times, the shuttle is amazing - no clearing snow off the car, no driving in a cold car, no waiting for the parking lot shuttle, no rushing the rest of the group to get ready in the morning, or calling it an early day because someone is done and needs a ride home. With this winter’s limitations around getting ready in the base lodge, having the ability to get ready in the comfort of HoME is even better!

Lastly, we’re in the middle of the Carrabassett Valley trail systems - fat tire biking, snowshoeing, and nordic skiing are walkable right from the Hostel!

A professional kitchen

Food brings us together and fuels our adventures. A 6-burner Vulcan range with 2 ovens and a 24” griddle is just the beginning of the equipment you’ll have access to during your stay. This kitchen leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to preparing large meals before and after heading out for the day, and has plenty of room for easy clean-up as well.
